The company became known for its production of air conditioners and, later, microwaves, following its acquisition by Raytheon in the 1960s. It was acquired in 1997 by Goodman Global and sold to Maytag in 2002. Its divisions are now separated into different companies, and its appliances are now under the Amana brand of Whirlpool Corporation.
