If you have a dryer at home, then you know how frustrating it is for it not to function. By knowing the common dryer problems, you can always troubleshoot whenever they occur, or take measures to prevent them from happening or call your appliance repair technicians without further risking your life, and that of the appliance.

Here is a brief look into some of the common dryer problems you are likely to encounter with your dryer unit:

Dyer not turning on

When you try the dryer and it doesn’t turn on, don’t hurry to call your dyer repair technician. Check the plug to make sure it is not loose or wiggled and then test the electrical outlet to ensure that it has power. If there is power at the outlet and the dryer still won’t turn on, the thermal fuse may be the likely culprit. Use the owner’s manual to change it and if it still doesn’t turn on after that, then you may call your appliance repair technician.

The dryer burning clothes

If the dryer burned even a single cloth, you should not risk any more load on it as these may also get fried. With such a problem, several reasons may be responsible and it is advisable to call a dryer repair technician to have a look at it.

The dryer not heating

First check to ensure that the settings have not been tampered with. Most of the dryers have a tendency to fluff the settings responsible for producing the heat. If all settings are the way they should be, but still there is no heat, then the problem may be the electronic ignition. This part, however, is not easily accessible and the best action to take is to pick up the phone and call your dryer repair technician for professional help.
